This is a question which is playing around in many professionals lives, especially the young ones.

This is quite a good question given the fact that analysis and analysis are not only phonetically, they are also overlapping subjects.

Between analysis and analytics, analytics for sure is a newer field.

Any newer field, usually have a demand-supply problem, which means there is a higher demand compared to supply, hence the salaries demanded will be higher than usual.

But does it mean, every aspiring person should look at analytics?

So now, if one has great knowledge of advanced mathematics (logistic regression upwards) and has a good flair for programming, I would recommend pursuing a career in analytics.

However, if you like solving business problems using technology, already have some experience in software development and love interacting with stakeholders, business analysis will be more appropriate.

Will the demand for system development go down in near future?

I sincerely doubt so. What we have achieved in automation is probably just the tip of the iceberg.

In the future, we will be automating many aspects of our lives which are repetitive and do not provide joy.

IoT is going to usher a huge revolution in plant and home automation.

Demand for both analysis and analytics will continue to grow.
